Inaugural Hack Night – Knock out Background Projects and Meet other Devs
After the success of the first hackathon, we're putting together a regular series of Hack Nights. Come to Sierra Commons – bring a computer – and work on whatever project you're excited about in a social, but productive atmosphere. There will be no awards or prizes, just a place to work on a project, meet and catch up with other developers, find project partners, and have an evening out.
The new Sierra Commons location (792 A Searls Ave, Nevada City CA 95959) is even more accommodating to software development with redundant Internet connections (thanks Spiral Internet for donating rock solid DSL to us), ethernet wiring throughout the building, and high speed wireless. It also has multiple rooms for those who prefer some quiet time to work.
Attendance is by donation (suggested for this first time: 5-10 dollars) as Sierra Commons continues to be very excited about hosting us. We are also looking for sponsors for some light refreshments, to help support the facility, and to provide some other options for what to have at future hack nights – maybe some speakers, etc. If you or a business you know is interested, please get in touch with Nick Santos via nick at nicksantos dot com.
Finally, a potential future hackathon is in the works, drop by the hack night to find out more.
