SEDCorps offers classes for small business owners

Did you know that 89% of annual incomes over $50,000 are earned by owners of small businesses? But, four out of five small businesses don’t last five years. What is the difference between success and failure?  Knowledge.  That is why the Sierra Economic Development Corporation (SEDCorp) is ramping up a diverse selection of classes with expert instructors.  SEDCorp, who is in the business of supporting the growth of small businesses through training workshops and small business loans, is providing the following classes in February in Auburn, Grass Valley and Placerville. Telethon to help save Nevada County libraries

NCTV and Friends of Nevada County Libraries are putting on a telethon on Saturday, February 20th, from 3-9 pm, to benefit Nevada County libraries. It will air on Comcast channel 11, Suddenlink Channel 16, and live on NCTV.  For more info, check out the Advocate.

As many of you know, the state and local governments are hurting for cash. Really hurting for cash. So much so that Nevada County has been kicking back and forth some pretty radical ideas concerning its libraries, which are seriously in the red. (more…)
